Prof. Dr. Leyla Ateş, after graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1998, obtained her master’s degrees from Marmara and Wisconsin Universities. Presenting her doctoral thesis in 2006, Prof. Dr. Ateş has continued her academic studies at Altınbaş University Financial Law Department since 2014. Leyla Ateş, who has been serving as the dean of the Faculty of Law at the same university since October 2019, has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the field of international tax law and tax litigation.
There are six books titled written and co-edited in English and Turkish by Prof. Dr. Ateş, which are “Legal Framework of Investment Tax Incentive Policy”, “Transfer Pricing and Taxation”, “Equality in Taxation”, “Multilateral Agreement and Its Possible Effects on Turkish-German Double Taxation Agreement”, “Automatic Information Exchange and Turkish-German Cooperation Opportunities”, “Interpretation, Implementation and Future Trends in the Turkish-German Double Taxation Agreement”. In addition, she has many international and national book chapters, articles published in refereed and non-refereed journals, in addition to her role in national and international congresses, symposiums, meetings and courses; as organizer and participant.
She has lectured on International Tax Law, International Tax Agreements Law, Public Finance, Tax Policies and General Tax Law and continues to guide many undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students in these fields.
Prof. Dr. Ateş is currently active members of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), BEPS Monitoring Group, Transparency International and Istanbul Bar Association.
